The Civil Code of Andrés Bello and the exegetical movement in Colombia

This paper is interested in the reception of civil code Andrés Bello Colombia during second half 19th century and first decades 20th century. Likewise, it relates above to emergence Colombian exegetical movement, close –as well as different– from movement French commentators on Civil Code 1804, a that will be called, pejoratively century, “exegesis”. Now, this work justified by importance articulating, due potentialities allows, legal history with comparative law, remembering both disciplines had common origins. so, understand law historically, necessary product cultures constant communication, such way analysis, our view, appears for history, vice versa. We hope then reader can observe exegesis, if we may use word, was not homogeneous throughout Western Hemisphere, but there are still points regarding some its most important postulates. Understanding happens, believe, recognizing similarities differences other previous, concomitant, subsequent movements.
